Julia Hood

Julia is the Coordinator of Education at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art which is an art museum located in a historic house. She says that her "decorative arts training is a useful addition to the museum as we try to better share the historic house and family through object-centered learning."

Additionally, the traveling exhibition, The Art of Seating: Two Hundred Years of American Design came to her museum this fall and she served as the co-managing curator. Working on this project meant research, writing and lectures not within the realm of her everyday work and an opportunity to put to use her background in decorative arts and design.
